Should be a dynamite game.   Walton is defending champ and has won 4 of the last 5 titles, but Gallatin is a veteran squad that comes in hot.   The Wildcats have won two games in the tourney with different players stepping up.    In game one, a hard-fought 59-48 victory over a vastly improved Williamstown team, four Wildcats scored in double figures, led by Logan Riddle (15 points / 9 rebounds).   The Cats didn't shoot all that well, but were superb at the line, hitting 12 of 16.

Gallatin won a deceptively easy 68-48 win over Eminence in the finals in a game where it seemed everything found the bottom of the net for the Cats.   Gallatin shot 51% from the floor and hit a whopping 13 of 28 from beyond the arc, with Drake Skidmore practically unconscious - he was 8 of 13 (61%!) beyond the arc and finished with 28 points to pace the Cats.   Zac Johnson rebounded from a four-point outing against Williamstown with 16.

Walton-Verona got a bye in round one; their "reward" was to face a strong Owen County squad in the semi-finals.    Twice the Rebels forged out to 10+ point leads, but the Bearcats kept fighting back, ultimately taking an 83-71 victory, overcoming an incredible performance from Owen's Teagan Moore (46 points - 19 of 21 from inside the arc; 1 of 3 beyond the arc, 7 of 8 at the line).     Four Bearcats scored in double figures, led by an impressive effort from Cam Christy (29 points and 9 boards) and a gutsy effort from Brant Smithers (23 points), who had Owen's defensive focus on him all night.    Julian Dixon added 12 and Max Montgomery came off the bench to score 11.

I'm working on a new nickname for W-V.....the "Coastal Cats" comes to mind.....because this team comes at you in waves.    Trying to battle the Bearcats is like trying to hold back the ocean; it just keeps coming with wave after wave after wave...

This should be an incredible game.    Pegasus goes on the air at 2:45 pm.
