Big Man (Soph) Brody Benke puts up 21 (has to be a Career high) to take down Newport. 

On a night where Highlands was missing 2 Starters Zac Barth  and Cole Kocher.

Highlands after 1 was in a battle, Newport kept on making some nice 3 pointers to keep things close early.  Nice too see Seth Ryan showcase his offensive talents in the 1st quarter putting up 8 pts.  Highlands was up only 24-21 after 1. 

Then the 2nd quarter saw Leyton Reed nail two 3 pointers and a nice balanced scoring from others to put the Birds up 43-35 at the Half.

Once again, Birds dominate in their magical 3rd quarter behind Herald dropping in 10 points in the quarter along with Benke putting in 8.  Birds pulled ahead big after 3, 66-46.

4th quarter saw some subs come in for Highlands with Austin Duncan getting into the action hitting a 3 and then a nice put back for his lone 5 points of the game.

Final, 84-61

Next up for the Birds is a trip down to Ashland to take on the BGP #6 team in the state at 6pm on Saturday
