Christian County/Hopkinsville

I received a text from a friend that said he had heard the Christian County BOE had voted to consolidate Christian County High and  Hopkinsville High. That would make the new school the largest in the state, around 2,400. Does anyone else have any information on this? It would sure make for a powerhouse in sports across the board. For example, both have won state basketball titles since the 1980s.
