The crown jewel of the week-long event capped off the evening last night, and the Birds beat the Raiders 2-0.  Two very talented rosters, very well coached, and with a great sense on each end with how to play.  Was aesthetically great to watch, as there was a lot of skill all over the pitch for both sides.

Ryle was without two of their top players, Landon Barth (Keeper) and Aiden Byrd (CB), who were sitting out after their run to the National Championship with Kings Hammer Academy Red 2005.  Ryle also lost a couple of their top players over the course of the evening to injuries (neither returned), Connor Race and Cam Engle, but hopefully both are fine and their injuries were minor.  

Colin Pieper, the dangerous strikes for Highlands, tallied both scores.

These are two complete teams, especially when they are at full-staff, and I saw nothing last night to change my thoughts about Ryle being pre-season #1 and Highlands in that mix for 2-4 with CovCath and Cooper.

 KUDOS to Bishop Brossart, their families, their staff, and their administration, they were AWESOME hosts this week for Soccerama.  The shirts looked great, the food was terrific at the concession stand (bonus points for having good brats, along with their hot dogs and metts), the volunteers at the game and working the different areas were friendly, welcoming, and happy to be there.  The weather was mostly great, the facility was a terrific host, the ball boys and girls did a great job keeping balls accessible and avoiding delays, truly, overall, just a grand slam of a week for the Mustangs.
