Boone County?? How good are they??

Featured Replies

Boone County has ran off 6 in a row and a lot of the games were by double digits?? Yet I haven't heard them mentioned in the same breath as Holmes, CovCath and others.

I would put them up there as being Top 5 team at this point. They are very young but have an experienced scorer it looks like in Bray. The McFarland kid is only a Sophomore and he is atleast 6'3 or 6'4... I saw him at the St.X Covcath game at NKU and he is a big kid who seems to be able to fill it up as well. You throw in Earls (Frosh) who has seen tough competition over the past couple years in AAU and who will get that much better by late in the season and you have a good mix. BRay is their mainstay though , he is lighting it up. Can you imagine if Farris went out this year?

They were alot better then I thought they would be, but then again they beat us so bad I only got to see them for one half maybe.

I saw them last night in a tourny in eastern Ky. They beat one of our 16th Region teams (by 18) that is ranked in the middle of the pack. I thought they looked like a team that would be at or near the top of our region. They play my Russell Red Devils (top ranked team in 16th) tomorrow night which should be a good test for both teams.

I think they are middle of the pack in the 9th. I've been called out by other saying I don't respect them and thats not true at all. I think they are grouped with St. Henry, NCC, Holy Cross, Dixie, and Highlands.

But when I stated this last week I noted that they haven't played anyone yet and don't really until Jan. Then they have a tough stretch. Like 7 games against ranked teams in the 9th. So its hard to say how good they really are right now.

As for beating a middle of the road 16th region team, thats like beating Newport, Lloyd, Beechwood in the 9th.

I can see that but lets not forget the team for the most part is young so they could be good for a couple years.
