Colonels_Wear_Blue Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 Coach Ray Valentine stepped down in February as the head coach of the Pirates in mid-season for personal/family reasons. Berea was in their second team quarantine for COVID, and had only played 5 games. Jerry Thacker filled in as coach, finishing out the remaining 11 games that the team was able to get in before season's end. The Pirates had 1 win under Valentine and 7 more under Thacker, finishing with an overall 8-8 record for the season. The job was posted to the KHSAA's site on April 1st.
Johnny_Utah Posted April 8, 2021 Posted April 8, 2021 Personally I think they need to attempt to keep Jerry on as Head Coach if he is open to that. From a distance it was apparent that he had a great impact on those kids during his time there as Interim HC.
