[All State Baseball]

With the weather that we got last week, not a lot of teams got to play, in fact, some teams have been off since around the beginning of February. With that said, let's take a look at the games that got played last night and see if they are any shifts in the rankings this week.

 

1) Hazard (14-3):   Previous Rank: 1

This Week: 2/23 vs. Harlan, 2/25 at Cordia, 2/27 vs. South Laurel (at Buckhorn Classic)

The Bulldogs picked up another district win last week in their lone game of the week, defeating Leslie County 79-54. Hazard has a tough test this week, can they keep it up or will they start to slip?

2) Wolfe County (8-7):   Previous Rank: 2

This Week: 2/25 vs. George Rogers Clark, 2/27 vs. Powell County, 2/27 vs. Harlan County (at Buckhorn Classic)

The Wolves split their two games last week, falling 68-62 to Sayre but bouncing back and picking up a big win over Martin County 81-76. Wolfe County has some big tests this week, GRC on Thursday and two games on Saturday. 

3) Knott County Central (11-5):   Previous Rank: 3

This Week: 2/22 vs. June Buchanan, 2/25 at Letcher County Central

Knott County Central picked up two wins last week, defeating Pikeville 59-55 and Perry County Central 72-67. With the two district games this week, can the Pats stay on top of the 53rd district or will they find out that the district is up in the air?

4) Breathitt County (12-3):   Previous Rank: 4

This Week: 2/23 at Harlan County, 2/25 vs. Perry County Central, 2/27 vs. Betsy Layne

The Bobcats seen their 7 game win streak snapped last week at the hand of Johnson Central 85-70. The Bobcats have several tough test this week, can they get back on track or will the losses start to pile up even more?

5) Estill County (8-4):   Previous Rank: 5

This Week: 2/24 vs. Berea, 2/25 at Jackson County

No games since February 9th. Can Estill knock the rust off and get back on track?

6) Letcher County Central (7-6):   Previous Rank:

This Week: 2/22 vs. LIGON COGO Home School, 2/23 at Belfry, 2/25 vs Knott County Central, 2/26 at  Powell County, 2/28 vs. June Buchanan.

No games this past week for Letcher County Central. When they get to play this week, they are gonna have a couple big tasks to deal with.

7) Leslie County (5-9):   Previous Rank: 7

This Week: 2/22 vs. Barbourville, 2/23 vs. Cordia

The Eagles got bit hard last week by the Hazard Bulldogs 79-54. With just two games this week, can Leslie County find their grove or will the losses continue piling up?

8 ) Perry County Central (3-9):   Previous Rank: 9

This week: 2/24 at Magoffin County, 2/25 at Breathitt County, 2/27 vs. TBA (at Buckhorn Classic)

With last week's loss to Knott County Central 72-67, the Commodores have now lost 2 straight and 5 of their last 6 games.

9) Buckhorn (6-11):   Previous Rank: 8

This Week: 2/25 at Jackson City, 2/26 vs. LIGON COGO KY Home School, 2/27 vs. Prestonsburg

The Wildcats were dealt two more losses last week, when they fell to Harlan County 83-49 and Floyd Central 78-71 in overtime. That's 3 straight losses and 6 of their last 8.

10) Cordia (7-8):   Previous Rank: 10

This week: 2/23 at Leslie County, 2/25 vs. Hazard, 2/27 at Red Bird

The Lions picked up their 7th win on the season when they crushed LIGON COGO Home School 100-32.

11) Owsley County (7-3):   Previous Rank: 11

This Week: 2/26 vs. Jackson City, 2/28 at Perry County Central

The Owls have not played since February 3rd. They've had 9 games that were canceled due to COVID-19.

12) Lee County (7-11):   Previous Rank: 12

This Week: 2/26 vs. Menifee County, 2/27 vs. Jackson County (at Buckhorn Classic)

No games for Lee County. The Bobcats haven't played since February 8th.

13) June Buchanan (7-8):   Previous Rank: 13

This Week: 2/22 at Knott County Central, 2/24 vs. Floyd Central, 2/26 vs. LIGON COGO KY Home School, 2/28 at Letcher County Central

No games for June Buchanan last week. The Crusaders last game was February 13th.

14) Powell County (1-12):   Previous Rank: 14

This week: 2/22 at Nicholas County, 2/23 vs. Berea, 2/26 vs. Letcher County Central, 2/27 at Wolfe County

No games for the Pirates last week. Last game was February 13th.

15) Jackson City (1-6):   Previous Rank: 15

This Week: 2/22 vs. LIGHT Danville KY Home School, 2/25 at Buckhorn, 2/26 at Owsley County, 2/27 vs. Riverside Christian

The Tigers lost a heartbreaker last week when they fell 59-58 to Heritage Academy. Jackson City has some winnable games this week, can they capitalize on those or will they continue to find themselves in the loss column?

16) Riverside Christian (0-11):   Previous Rank: 16

This Week: 2/27 at Jackson City

No games for the Rams last week. They haven't played since February 9th. Can they knock off Jackson City to get their first win on the season or will they go winless in 2020/21?
