Scott Varsity is on fire right now. Team chemistry is there and defense is intense at times.

Two Really nice bounce back wins after loss earlier in week to Conner! Patterson and Profitt are really nice players!

Kelly Niece finishes with a record of 1-4 vs Scott since leaving middle school.

Wonder what type of run Scott would’ve had if Kelly, Deontae Miles, Jake Mayer had went to Scott and with the Ohmer boys, Profitt?

Best wishes to Kelly.

The 8th Region Simon Kenton Pioneers took the 10-15 minute drive north to take on the 10th Region Scott High Eagles Friday night, and in a game between two teams of similar styles and similar strengths one might guess that it would be a good game, and one would be dead on with that assessment.

In a game that saw multiple lead changes throughout, both teams really got at each other where we saw Scott ahead 11-9 at the end of 1, Simon Kenton up 26-24 at Halftime, Scott up by 1 at the end of 3rd quarter 34-33, and the Eagles ultimately prevailing in the end at home 57-54.

Scott twice managed to get 6 point leads in the 2nd half, but the Pioneers, with the always reliable services of Kelly Niece he kept answering to keep them in the game. The last minute of the game saw Scott continue to make clutch free throws to seal the deal, while the Pioneers really kept it interesting all the way until the final horn by always keeping the window open with clutch baskets, and foul shooting of their own.

I don’t have final stats, but as usual Kelly Niece was able to net a whole bunch.
