1) Knott County Central (8-3):   Previous Rank: 1

This Week: 2/2 vs. Harlan County (WYMT Classic at Perry County Central)

The Patriots split 4 games last week, going 2-2. Wins coming over Letcher County Central 67-63 and absolutely crushing Powell County 79-33. The losses came to Wolfe County 67-59 and North Laurel 101-79. The Patriots started the season off good until they hit last week when they were dealt those two losses.

2) Hazard (8-2):   Previous Rank: 2

This week: 2/2 vs. Martin County (WYMT Classic at Perry County Central), 2/4 vs. Owsley County.

After an 0-2 start to the season, Hazard has won their last 8 games in a row including last week's 71-67 barn burner win over Leslie County. Hazard was scheduled to play Belfry and Perry County Central but both of those games were canceled due to COVID-19. Bulldogs are starting to get hot. Can they keep it up?

3) Wolfe County (5-4):   Previous Rank: 5

This Week: 2/1 vs. Buckhorn (at Perry County Central WYMT Classic)

Wolfe County picked up two solid wins last week, defeating Jackson City 78-49 and getting revenge on an earlier season loss when they defeated #1 Knott County Central 67-59. That's three straight wins for the Wolves. Are they finally finding their grove?

4) Leslie County (4-5):   Previous Rank: 3

This Week: 2/1 vs. Breathitt County, 2/4 vs. Harlan Independent, 2/6 at Breathitt County

The Eagles have hit a rough spot losing 3 straight, all coming last week. 70-68 Clay County, 65-51 Letcher County Central and 71-67 Hazard. The schedule this week, doesn't get any easier for the Eagles.

5) Breathitt County (7-2):   Previous Rank: 7

This Week: 2/1 at Leslie County, 2/2 vs. Estill County, 2/4 at Letcher County Central, 2/6 vs. Leslie County

Breathitt County won their only two games last week, defeating district foe Jackson City 85-51 and Cordia 105-77. That is the first time in 2 years that Breathitt County has hit the triple digits on the scoreboard.

6) Estill County (6-2):   Previous Rank: 6

This Week: 2/2 at Breathitt County, 2/5 vs. Lee County

Engineers had a switch of things last week, they were originally scheduled to host Buckhorn but the game was moved to 3/1. With the rescheduled game, the Engineers were able to pick up Great Crossing (New School from Georgetown) on the same date the Buckhorn game was originally scheduled for. It was a great game, Estill most of the game. Only lead Great Crossing had was 7-2, 9-2, 9-4. Estill led14-12 at the end of 1 and 22-20 at halftime. Estill extended their lead to 42-27 at the end of the 3Q. Estill outscored Great Crossing 20-7 in the 3Q as they would go on to defeat the Warhawks 56-49.

7) Letcher County Central (6-4):   Previous Rank: 8

This Week: 2/2 vs. Cordia, 2/4 vs. Breathitt County, 2/6 vs. Floyd Central.

Cougars went 1-2 last week, defeating Leslie County 65-51 but falling to both Knott County Central 67-63 and Magoffin County 57-52. Cougars will have another tough region test this week when they face Breathitt County.

8 ) Perry County Central (2-5):   Previous Rank: 4

This Week: 2/2 at Johnson Central, 2/5 at Buckhorn (Scott Blank Classic), 2/6 at Pike County Central.

The Commodores lost their only game of the week last week, falling 79-65 to Clay County at John C. Combs Arena. Perry County Central has a tough test this week, can they get things turned around and start climbing back up in the rankings next week?

9) Buckhorn (4-7):   Previous Rank: 8

This Week: 2/1 vs. Wolfe County (at Perry County Central WYMT Classic), 2/5 vs. Perry County Central, 2/6 vs. Prestonsburg

Buckhorn is struggling and struggling bad. They've gone 1-6 in their last 7 games with their lone win coming last week over Red Bird 56-33. This week isn't any easier for the Wildcats.

10) Cordia (3-6):   Previous Rank: 10

This Week: 2/2 at Letcher County Central, 2/4 vs. Powell County.

The Lions are 1-4 in their last 5 games. They picked up a 69-63 win last week over Floyd Central.

11) Owsley County (6-3):   Previous Rank: 11

This Week: 2/2 at Jackson City, 2/4 at Hazard, 2/5 at Riverside Christian, 2/6 vs. Red Bird

The Owls have won 5 of their last 6 games but they continue to struggle against the region's top contenders.

12) Lee County (5-9):   Previous Rank: 12

This Week: 2/3 vs. Riverside Christian, 2/5 at Estill County, 2/7 vs. Jackson City (at Buckhorn Scott Blank Classic)

The Bobcats are struggling. They have a lone district win over Powell County, the first time since the 2012/13 season that has happened. Could this finally be the year the Pirates get out of the 4th spot and a first round district game with Estill County?

13) Jackson City (1-4):   Previous Rank: 12

This Week: 2/2 vs. Owsley County, 2/4 vs. June Buchanan, 2/7 vs. Lee County (at Buckhorn Scott Blank Classic).

The Tigers have now lost 3 straight and 4 of their first 5 games of the season.

14) June Buchanan (5-7):   Previous Rank: 14

This Week: 2/4 at Jackson City, 2/6 vs. Riverside Christian

June Buchanan starting to play some good basketball, winning 4 of their last 5 games. Can they keep it up as the season winds down?

15) Powell County (0-8):   Previous Rank: 15

This Week: 2/2 at Model, 2/4 at Cordia, 2/6 vs. Fleming County.

The Pirates are still searching for their first win on the season, will it come this week or will 3 more losses be added to their loss total?

16) Riverside Christian (0-8):   Previous Rank: 16

This Week: 2/3 at Lee County, 2/5 vs. Owsley County, 2/6 at June Buchanan.

The Rams only have 5 games left, can they get their first win or will they end up winless this season?

Also, I think Hazard picked up a new player. I’m not sure he is eligible at this time but I think his name is Duff.
