Mustangs use a pair of early half runs, 14-2 in the first half and 8-0 to start the second half to help defeat the Newport Wildcats 58-38 on Saturday night in Alexandria.  Brossart led at each quarter stop 14-2, 26-14, 41-24, and 58-38.

The Mustangs employed a balanced scoring attack, which saw Senior Mick Clines score a career high 15 points to lead the Mustangs.  Sophomore Mason Sepate nailed a trio of first quarter 3-pointers contributing to a 13 point outing, while Sewnior Stephen Verst and Junior David Govan adding 12 apiece.  Govan also pulled down 11 rebounds to complete the double-double, his second of the season.

Newport's KeAndre Nelson led all scorers with 21 points, and was the Cats only double-figure scorer.

With the win the Mustangs improve to 4-2 and have the daunting of taking on the defending 9th and All "A" State Champion St. Henry Crusaders on Thursday.

Newport drops to 1-3 on the campaign and travel to Fort Mitchell for a Tuesday night engagement with the Beechwood Tigers.
