Let’s say you have a son in a public school and they are doing non-traditional instruction at home. You think that this is not the best for his education. If you choose to send him to a private school which is doing in-person teaching, should they be able to play sports at that school?

Would seem like legit reason to me but not sure how KHSAA would handle that since unprecedented.

Wow.   Tough call.    But I'm not sure the KHSAA would agree to it.   This is just my first-blush reaction, but...

The reason being given would be due to poor education / lack of educational opportunity / etc.    I don't think, pre-Covid, that this reason/excuse would have flown with the KHSAA.   I think the KHSAA would have said that it was the parents' prerogative to move /change schools for that reason, but that it wasn't good enough to pass muster for immediate eligibility.

Otherwise, that would be the single most-abused "reason" out there...and no way to prove one way or another.

Just a "first blush" thought....
