Hardin County football has been trending up in the last decade, with both Elizabethtown and Central Hardin reaching annual top ten status in their respective classes.

Both teams have major holes to fill this season, but there should still be talent aplenty on both sidelines. This marks the first game as Elizabethtown head coach for Ross Brown, son of former E'town boss Mark Brown.

If the Bruins and Panthers can replicate the offensive explosion of last year's Central Hardin win, the skies over E'town might witness a second 4th of July. On that mid September night, the two teams decided to cast aside any semblance of defense, and in the end, fell just shy of 100 combined points and 1,000 yards of offense.

Will we see that type of high octane offense again, or will both teams remember to bring their defenses with them this time?
