16thBBall Fan
The Reds today acquired RHP Archie Bradley and OF Brian Goodwin. Below is the Reds press release on the moves: The Cincinnati Reds bolstered their bullpen and added depth in the outfield with a pair of deals today before Major League Baseball’s trade deadline. In a trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Reds acquired RHP Archie Bradley and cash in exchange for IF Josh VanMeter and minor league OF Stuart Fairchild. The Reds also traded for OF Brian Goodwin from the Los Angeles Angels, sending minor league LHP Packy Naughton and a player to be named later to LA. Bradley, 28, has served as Arizona’s closer with six saves in 10 appearances this season. In 2019, Bradley posted a 3.52 ERA in 66 games while striking out 87 batters over 71 2/3 innings pitched. Goodwin, 29, is a veteran who can play all three outfield positions. In 30 games so far this season, the left-handed batter has four homers and 17 RBIs, while hitting .242 with a .330 on base percentage.
Mustang
Already the Reds broadcasters aee proclaiming this a solid trade. How solid can it be if all we gave up was Josh Van Meter. I'm sure these two will be long forgotten by next year at this time.
