Whitley Co 60 Barbourville 57

Colonels pull out the win. After leading by as much as 14 points, the Red Storm survives and gets win number three. Looks like playing the good competition has helped the Colonels. Congrats. Now onto the Jackets of Williamsburg who won tonight 77- 62 over the Burgin Bulldogs. Should be a barnburner at Mountjoy gym next Tuesday.

The loss of Derek Vanover played a big factor in tonight's game, too.

Where the players involved in the wreck back for Whitley Co tonight?

No more than the three players Whitley was missing Lawson, Teague and Capps. Come give up for the good win for the COLONELS. (I don't recall the basketball team referring to themselves as the Red Storm)

Any stats on the game?

Apex,

Get a grip. Vanover had regional tournament and regional finals experience. Wasn't taking a swat at your team...geez. Colonels, Red Storm, it doesn't matter they're Whitley County.

I have a grip, rest assured. Just pointing out the obvious, in that Whitley was still missing three players which were slated to contribute starting minutes for them. So certianly three would equal one. I was not at the game, were you? Seeing how NL an SL played tonight,I doubt you were, so I really don't think either of us are in much of a position to talk too much about the game.

Regardless of who played and who didn't it was a good win for the Colonels.

Dude, I'm every where.

What happened to Vanover?

This score shocks me. Barbourville played really well last week during the Harlan County portion of their schedule.

SANTA CLAUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm starring in Santa Claus 4......lol

The score doesn't shock me much. The Harlan teams (other than Cawood (so, so) and Cumberland) looks rather weak to me, to be honest.

Vanover has an injury and will be out for a while from what I was told.

Sorry to offend with the Red Storm comment. I thought it was like Auburn and used both... War Eagles and Tigers..... guess I touched a nerve. I was happy with the win regardless of who played. A win is a win when you are building a program. I would think Whitley is a big favorite against first year Coach Patrick Robinson, but Robinson was a player for the Burg back when they battled the Colonels well. I think they won about 8 of 9 when Robinson was a player. At any rate it will be interesting to see a first year coach go up against a wiley veteren in Coach Deaton. I wonder who can work the referees the best? :sssh:

A good win for Whitley.

Harlan County is down, except for Cumberland, but Barbourville looked good last week.

Cawood looked good against Corbin, though. Could have won that game. I watched B'ville play and they looked solid, but Dinky said his team would be up and down this season.

Nice win for the Colonels...

Bubba, your right those Auburn folks sure don't mind to be War Eagles and Tigers...
