Oldham County 92 Trimble County 41 (29th District)

Featured Replies

Notes....

- Trimble turned the ball over on each of their first 11 possessions without taking a shot.

- Oldham seized a 21-10 lead after one period, but probably should have had a bigger lead. The Colonels failed to do so because they also struggled with turnovers in the first, with 8 turnovers total in the frame.

- Oldham led, 43-25, at the half, but hadn't shot the ball well (just 43.2% overall, 4 of 15 beyond the arc, and 7 of 12 at the line)

- The Colonels found their shooting eye in the third (12 of 22 overall) and blitzed the Raiders, 35-7, to put the game away.

- Oldham went deep on the bench early and often, beginning in the first quarter. Oldham played all subs in the fourth as the game went to a running clock. The Colonels played 14 players in the contest.

- Oldham County placed four players in double figures: Xander Wagner-Rose (14 points), Nick Carter (14), and Deaton Oak (13), plus Sam Campbell returned from a leg injury to score 12 points.

- Trimble's star guard Reece Webster finished unofficially with 11 points in his final game to lead the Raiders.

- Oldham made as many field goals (33) as Trimble attempted.

- The Raiders finished with 34 turnovers, unofficially. Oldham had 11 unofficially.

Oldham improves to 27-3 on the season and faces either North Oldham or South Oldham in the 29th district title game at 8 pm on Friday 2/28/2020 at Trimble County HS.

Trimble finishes the year 7-22.

Good tune up game for Oldham, it’ll only get tougher from here. Their depth is going to be their advantage heading into New Castle and possibly Lexington.

Also, what a career for Reece Webster! Trimble County should retire his jersey.

BBN87 - SORRY....I intended to click "likes" for your post and got lazy and inadvertently hit "dislike". My apologies - that was a "swing and a miss" on my part.

Agree wholeheartedly with your comments. OC's depth, which is second to none in the region this year, is a huge advantage. But it will only get tougher with each game - Oldham might not get away with a sloppy start like they had against Trimble in the rest of the tourney.

Count me in as voting for Trimble County to retire Webster's jersey. Great career in Bedford for this young man - and "career leading scorers" don't come along every day!!
