This game saw the Mustangs burst from the gate on a 13-0 run, which ended 17-5 at the end of the first quarter. Five home team players put ink in the score book.

The second quarter was more contentious with the Mustangs again holding the upper hand outscoring the Wildcats 15-9, producing a 32-14 halftime lead.

In the third quarter it was Pendleton County's turn to shine, laying a 7-0 run on the Mustangs, all by leading scorer, Junior Tredyn Thomas, who would attempt to put his team on his shoulders and go on to score 23 on the night.

Following a Mike Code time out, his team outscored the Cats 23-18 to lead 55-39 after three stanzas.

The Mustangs prevailed 11-9 in the finale, to win 66-48. Senior Blayke Kremer came from off the bench to hit four of five attempts from beyond the arc, and stand in and take three charges. Kremer finished with 14 points on the night. Carson Schirmer, scored 16 of his game-high 22 points in the second half, matching Thomas point-per-point, and Ethan Eilerman eclipsed the 1,100 (1,111) points plateau with 15 on the night. The Mustangs held a 12-5 advantage from the free-throw line.

Clay Monroe knocked down a trio of three-pointers in the second half, and finished his night's work with 9 points.

With the win the Mustangs improve to 18-3 on the season and will play Newport Central Catholic on the Carothers Road Hill Friday night.

Sam Elsbernd's Wildcats, who had won six of their last eight, fall to 10-13 on the season, and go to Brooksville for an encounter with the Bracken County Polar Bears Friday night.

In the JV game, Pendleton County connected on a pair of 3-point goals in the waning moments of the game to snatch a 33-30 win away from the home standing Mustangs who had defeated them in Falmouth earlier this year. Freshman Ethan Verst hit the game winner.
