The Dragons become the third Oldham County school to face the Yellowjackets, who previously handed #13 Oldham County their only 8th Region defeat, and later went to Goshen and beat the North Oldham Mustangs.

 

Woodford, however, may be playing without star center Hunter Penn (15.1 ppg / 9.1 rebounds), who was injured two games ago against Walton-Verona. In Woodford's last game - Friday 1/24/2020 - the Jackets fell to district rival Spencer County, 52-50, in their first game without Penn. That ended a five game winning streak for Woodford, who comes into Saturday's game with a 12-7 record.

 

South (15-6) comes into the game on a two game winning streak, and winners of 6 of their last 8. The Dragons have reached 90+ points in both of their last two games, defeating North Bullitt, 98-51, and CAL, 95-71.

 

South has eclipsed 90 points now five times this season, and three times in their last five games.

Word is Hunter Penn will not play for Woodford, although that did not come directly from the Woodford coaches.

 

Congrats to South Oldham's Luke Morrison, who became the Dragons' all time career leading scorer against CAL last night. He surpasses Brad Cofer on the Dragons' all-time scoring list.

 

Congrats also to South's Seth Johnson, who surpassed the 1,000 mark in career scoring on Tuesday against North Bullitt.
