The Shockers (15-1, 3-0 American) had a nine point lead with 1:09left in the game and suddenly they seemed to forget how to play basketball. U. Conn (10-6, 1-3 got the tying three point bucket with 1.6 seconds left then blocked a game winning shot to force overtime. The Shockers missed a three and a tip in after the three as time ran out in the first OT. In the 2nd OT the Shockers were finally able to put away the pesky Huskies, by outscoring them by three points. Leading the winners, with 19 points and 8 boards was Jaime Echenique (Barranquilla, Colombia). Dexter Dennis (Baker, LA_ came off of the bench to score 16 points and he pulled down 7 boards. Also scoring 16 points was, Erik Stevenson (Lacey, WA). He also grabbed 6 boards. The Shockers connected on 42.7% of their shots. For the Huskies, Christian Vital (Queens Village, NY) had a game high 25 points. James Bouknight (Brooklyn, NY) had 16 points and six boards.
