North Oldham vs. Woodford County Predictions/Updates

Featured Replies

North Oldham hosts the Woodford County Yellowjackets tonight (Sat 1/11/2020) in Goshen.

Tipoff: 7:30 pm

Pegasus Sports pregame show: 7:00 pm ET The Pegasus Sports Network - PSN

Two teams going opposite directions right now. North - once 6-1 and playing in the championship of the King of the Bluegrass - has seen its star senior Justin Powell go down with an injury and has lost 6 of its last 7, and sits at 7-7 on the season now. North has played an absolutely brutal schedule; they've already played Male twice (split two games), Paul Dunbar twice, Ballard, Spencer County, Bardstown, and Frederick Douglass.

Woodford County, in its first year in the 8th region, has been a bit of a mystery. The Jackets have had some impressive wins (a 16 point win over Paul Dunbar, the only KY team to defeat Oldham County, Estill County). They played very well in close losses to good teams like Clay County and Tates Creek. But they've also had some head-scratchers, like the loss to Bryan Station. Still, Woodford is on an uptick right now, as the Jackets have won 7 of their last 9 and come into the game at 8-7 on the year.

For North, the play of Tyler Higdon has been inspired of late, especially since Powell got hurt. In the last three games, Higdon scored 34 points (vs. Male), 28 (vs. Paul Dunbar) and 25 (vs. Bradford - FL). He had a combined 23 rebounds in those three games. The Mustang guards are doing a great job of finding Higdon, who is a very mobile center who attacks the rim with energy.

Woodford is led by Hunter Penn, who's not far off from averaging a double-double at 15.9 ppg / 8.7 rebounds. Penn is hitting a ridiculous 65.7% of his shots from the floor.

Live video coverage begins tonight at 7 pm at The Pegasus Sports Network - PSN (also archived.)

Scoreboard says tied at 31.

Pegasus stats show North ahead 31-30. The scoreboard gave WC two points when a player hit 1 of 2 FTs.....

This is actually one time we are quite certain the score is wrong because we actually saw the scoreboard add 2 to Woodford's score when the free throw shooter hit 1 of 2 shots....

LOL....too funny.

Of course, won't be funny to North's David Levitch if the Mustangs lose by one....
