Good effort, but tough loss for the Red Devils at home against a top 5 3A team from West Virginia.

Russell went toe-to-toe with the biggest school in WVA 1,965 students. I am proud of the team, they came to play today. With the big 6'9 they had, Cabell Midland should have dominated the game. Russell doesn't even have 700 students. So to play toe-to-toe is pretty good.

If Russell plays with this kind of effort and energy on a nightly basis, they'll win their share of games, but there are no easy wins coming up in the next few weeks. Patience will indeed be a virtue for Russell fans this season.

The Raceland game will be the best chance for their first win. Even that game could be a tough one. Then you have Fredrick Douglass and Newport and then The King of the Smokies Tournament in Pigeon Forge,TN.
