Spencer County 71 Shelby Valley 69

Featured Replies

Spencer County drove three hours to Pikeville and beat a very good Shelby Valley team. They were able to overcome some of the worst home cooked calls I've ever seen. This team is tough. Playing all three Oldham County Schools this week. Doesn't get any easier but the Bears have started the season off with two very nice wins.

How many did Connelly have for Spencer and Potter for Shelby valley

Haven't seen box score yet. They were both the leading scorers for their teams. Potter can flat out shoot. Spencer had four guys in double figures again.

Potter had 27 and Conley had 28. I think Conley was picked a little low in the preseason player rankings of the eighth region. Potter is a senior and Mr. Basketball candidate while Sam is a junior. Both of them are special players. Potter's shooting is incredible. I will say though the difference is that Conley is equally as good on the defensive side of the court. Potter is not.

Congrats to the Bears! Nice job representing the 8th in a very difficult place to play against one of the better 15th region squads. Great out-of-region victory!
