Not surprised by the Brossart victory, but I am surprised by the margin.

What's your one-game take on the 'Breds, Mustang?

Having not played Harrison County last year, the players on this team were strangers to me. Gone were their three top players from a year ago, Spencer Free (18.1ppg), Quenton Turley (13.7ppg), and Thomas Thompson (11.2). That's a lot to lose.

 

The fact that Harrison County put ten players in the scoring column last night, with none scoring double-figures says to me that Coach Kendall is feeling the group out and looking for answers.

 

Our defense is going to cause mere mortal teams problems, as was the case last night on the Hilltop. The Breds are big and solid. They list eight players on their roster at 6'2" or over, including a 6'11" freshman, Will Furnish, who is raw, but loaded with potential for the future. He does a lot of things right. Good hands, keeps the ball high, and scores from in-close.

 

This could be a dues paying season for the Breds, BUT help is on the way.

 

They have a whole stable full of young up and comers. Their freshmen limited our guys to 21 points. We had scored 46 against Newport (who I thought was a better team) the night before, so the young Breds can also D it up, and their JVs overcame a 7 point deficit to draw off and win handily.
