Congratulations to Ashland.

This one went about the way I thought it would. I did think that Raceland would've scored a tome or two but when you can't run the football then nothing goes.

Congrats to the Tomcats on the win. Good luck the rest of the way out.

The real season starts next week with district play along with 3 of the next 4 at home.

Congrats to the Tomcats on the win, but there is still some work to do prior to the playoffs. The Raceland defense kept Ashland in check minus a few big plays. With Ashlands speed those plays will be there in most games and Ashlands veteran oline has a lot to do with that.

Personally I came away more impressed with Ashlands defense in this one though, they were able to keep Raceland in check while waiting on the offense to bust loose for the long td's.

As @oldrambler mentioned in the update thread speed kills and that's a big part of what got Ashland the W tonight. Speed on both sides of the ball for that matter. The Hester interception that led to Pittmans td a play later says it all.

No need for the Rams to hang their heads on this loss though, they looked better tonight than they did when I watched them play Greenup County. They're definitely still a threat in 1A, they may not see the size and speed Ashland has the rest of the season.
