Sergei Bobrovski got his second straight shutout and the Blue Jackets did what they needed to do in Columbus, last night.

In the first Ryan Dzingel scored his second goal in as many games, this time on a power play, to give the Jackets a 1-0 lead after 1.

After a scoreless 2nd period, Artemi Panerin scored on a breakaway 2 1/2 minutes into the third. Oliver Bjorkstrand followed that up with wrist shot past Greiss, midway through the period, and Cam Atkinson added an empty netter with 27 seconds left in the game.

Bobrovski had 26 saves and now is tied with Marc-Andre Fleury for most shutouts in the NHL this season, with 8.

The scheduling Gods were now kind to the Blue Jackets, this night, as the Canadians played and destroyed that team from Miami. Columbus did eliminate the Panthers from playoff contention, though.

Columbus still trails Montreal by 2 points for the last playoff spot, though with Carolina losing, they pulled within 3 points of the Canes. The Jackets have 6 games left, the Canadians 5. Should the teams end the season tied in points, Columbus holds the tie breaker.

I think if Columbus loses the game tonight against Montreal, they're done because they'd drop 4 points back. Even though Columbus would have a game in hand and Montreal's remaining schedule is brutal, I think that'd be too much for the Jackets to overcome. Tonight's game will be must see.
