Interesting ballgame!

Eleven lead changes and four ties, with seven of those lead changes in the first quarter.

The game also featured runs. Brossart had one of 9-0 mid-second period giving us a 24-17 lead. That was immediately followed by an 11-0 Mason County run, extending from late 2nd quarter to early-3rd quarter, giving them a 28-24 advantage, and then another 8-0 run to start the fourth quarter, as we failed to score until the 1:40 mark of the fourth quarter.

The stats were similar in all categories except that Mason County held a 15-4 edge in the "Points off of turnovers" category that spelled our doom.

Brossart's Marie Kiefer led all scorers with 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Senior Olivia Schultz scored 10. The Lady Royals were led by Emma Taylor with 13, and Victoria Brooks with 10. She is a senior southpaw who hit 6 of 8 critical free-throws down the stretch.

The Lady Royals improve to 18-12, and advance to play Harrison County, 66-44 winners over Bourbon County, in the Monday upper bracket semi-finals at 6pm, while the Lady Stangs close the book on a 20-11 campaign that featured a pair of seniors, one junior and thirteen freshmen and sophomores.

Brooks played on a bad leg and Payne had been sick for a couple of days. Wednesday was her first day back to school. Glover is also sick and did not even make the trip. Very good win by the Lady Royals.
