Brent Bach signs professional contract to play in Portugal

The "Augusta Rifle" signed to play for the Sampaenes professional basketball team in Portugal. The team's home page indicates the 11-6 team is gearing toward a late season drive to the playoffs and they plan to inject Brent directly into the starting lineup with his first game this Sunday. There are 11 games remaining in the regular season and the 2018 Bellarmine and 2014 Augusta Panther graduate will be counted on for his offensive skills from the 2 guard role. At 6'1", Brent was the leading scorer his senior year at Bellarmine, 2nd Team All-GLVC, and was two time All-State KHSAA, 10th Region POY, scored over 1,000 points in his senior season, and with over 2,600 points is the all-time leading scorer in the Augusta Panther program.

 

For Bellarmine last year, Brent shot 57% from the field, 46% on 3FGs, and 77% on FTs. His athletic abilities and work ethic have led to this opportunity in Portugal. Good luck Brent. Proud of you and hope this is the start of a great pro career.
