Brossart Sophomore Center Marie Kiefer, who scored 13 points on the night, and caused the Fillies early game foul-trouble, forced the Fillies into a zone, over which our ladies struck from beyond the arc on five occasions in the first half, on top of 52.9% shooting from 2-Point range, giving the home team a lead of 26-13 at one point in the second quarter which settled in at 30-22 by halftime.

Our gals edged the Fillies in the third quarter 13-12, for a 43-34 advantage with a quarter to play, and had enough in the tank to hold off the Fillies down the stretch, despite the loss of Kiefer, our leading scorer, rebounder and shot-blocker who fouled out with over two minutes remaining in the contest.

On the night we hit 6 of 12 three-pointers, were 10 of 22 from inside the arc, and knocked home 21 of 30 free-throws. Harrison County hit 1 of 7 from beyond the arc and were 13 of 42 from 2-point range. They were 15 of 18 from the charity stripe.

The Fillies fall to 21-6 and The Lady Stangs improve to 19-8.

Sounds like they shot the ball well. They could of used that shooting February 8 against the thoroughbreds.

There were several games this season that kind of shooting could have helped. They are a young group and the future is bright.

I thought it was very classy of Bishop Brossart staff to honor the Kellione girl during introductions.

She is a baller for sure and deserved her 10th Region player honors.
