Final. Brossart vs Paris tomorrow for the championship.

Augusta came to play and battled the Mustangs to a 13-13 first quarter tie.

Both teams had mini-runs of 7-0, but just before the half the Mustangs went on a 6-0 run to take a 28-21 lead at halftime. We then extended the run to 13-0 into the second half, giving the Mustangs a 36-21 bulge, from which the Panthers could not recover.

Mustang Senior J.D. Schumacher caught fire in the third quarter netting 15 of his career high 29 points that included a slam-dunk, the first for a Brossart team since 2014.

 

Augusta Junior Preston Philpot led the Panthers with 19 points. He and Sam Appleman were named to the All-Tournament Team. Stephen Cordle was awarded All-Academic.

 

Brossart and the Paris Greyhounds will hook up in the 10th Region "A" Championship Game scheduled for 4pm Sunday at the Campbell County Middle School.
