Dixie never pulled closer than 10-12 points. Schwartz and Scherr in double figures scoring. Scherr with a double double. Dixie struggles with the press. When Ryle plays well they look very good

For those who were at the game - Does Dixie look like they could get to the point where they challenge Ryle or Conner or Highlands later in the year? Or does this look like their ceiling right now?

I've seen them a handful of times now and think they have some nice players. But not sure they're going to have the firepower or strategy to contend with the 9th's best. Thoughts?

No. Dixie has a solid team, but Ryle is just on another level. I'm not sure if anyone will really compete with Ryle outside of maybe Conner.

Dixie struggled with the press right from the start. The girls just looked lost. Once they settled down and starting moving, they were able to break the press with relative ease. They just couldn't get the stops against a Ryle team that can spread you out and attack the basket or shoot from the outside. You also have to have 5 girls playing defense every possession to limit their opportunities, not just 4.

So it's an issue of player firepower? Not strategy or style.

Dixie looked clueless in the press. Dixie seems to me to play 1940s slow it down basketball and Ryle plays upbeat athletic basketball.

In the first minute or two of the game they did. After that, they settled down and didn't have much of an issue with it.

I've only seen them play a couple times, and I think slowing it down was their means of trying to stay with Ryle. They definitely cannot run with them.

Player firepower. I think Dixie can shorten the deficit, but Ryle is going to win 10 out of 10 times.

They would win 10 of 10. Ryle have some really nice players. Dixie style is no conducive to the modern day game of basketball. The days up just setting up and running plays is a bygone way of coaching. Coaches need to be teaching ways to react to what the defense gives you instead of plays.
