Week 10: Buchanan found the passing lanes to be a little clearer against Bullitt Central compared to the previous two weeks. He was a very clean, efficient 9 of 11 for 184 yards and 3 TDs in BG's 52-0 win.

 

Season to date: 160 of 270 for 1,881 yards and 21 TDs with 6 ints.

Joey Cambron, Daviess County (6-4, unranked in 6A)

 

Week 10: Cambron continued his late season tear in the Panthers’ 43-19 victory over Apollo. For the fourth straight game, he threw five TD passes. He has 24 TD passes alone over the last five weeks.

 

Season to date: 194 of 323 for 2,787 yards and 35 with 13 ints.

Gavin Spurrier, South Warren (10-0, ranked #2 in 5A)

 

Week 10: Spurrier had arguably his best performance of the season in South Warren's 42-12 blowout of Owensboro Catholic. He outperformed another of the state's top QBs, Drew Hartz, with 229 yards passing and 5 TDs. His TD/Int. ratio of 10 to 1 is tops in the state.

 

Season to date: 120 of 170 for 1,757 yards and 30 TDs with 3 ints.

Braxton Ratliff, Ashland (9-1, ranked #3 in 4A)

 

Week 10: Ashland was off last week. They begin postseason play this Friday versus Holmes.

 

Season to date: 95 of 151 for 1,612 yards and 16 TDs with 4 ints. ; 79 rushes for 620 yards and 6 TDs

Chase Estep, Corbin (9-1, ranked #2 in 3A)

 

Week 10: Estep finished 7 of 13 for 108 yards and a TD in Corbin's 28-14 win over Knox Central. It wasn't a great game. It wasn't a bad game. It was just kind of… meh.

 

Season to date: 120 of 169 for 2,211 yards with 29 TDs and 4 ints. ; 64 rushes for 380 yards and 7 TDs

Cameron Jones, Frederick Douglass (10-0, ranked #1 in 6A)

 

Week 10: The Broncos rode their running game to victory over Conner, requiring very little of Jones. He only attempted seven passes, completing four for 45 yards and a TD.

Week 10: The Maroons overcame sloppy field conditions to rally for a 35-21 win over Collins. Cain didn't have his best night, but still threw a couple of TD passes.

Will Warren, Owensboro (8-2, ranked #7 in 5A)

 

Week 10: Warren threw for 281 yards and 4 TDs in Owensboro's 35-21 victory over Henderson County. He's got 20 TD passes against four interceptions during the Red Devils’ six game win streak.

 

Season to date: 171 of 288 for 2,608 yards and 31 TDs with 10 ints.

Wandale Robinson, Western Hills (7-3, ranked #10 in 3A)

 

Week 10: Harrison County did something no one else has accomplished this season… they held Robinson under 100 yards rushing (he had 95). He did, however, top the century mark in receiving yards (103), record a scoop and score, make 9 tackles (putting him over 100 for the season), and score 4 total TDs in Western Hills’ come from behind victory.

 

Season to date: 193 carries for 1,844 yards and 28 TDs ; 22 catches for 493 yards and 9 TDs ; 2 TD passes ; 2 kick return TDs ; 105 tackles (11 TFL) ; 3 interceptions (1 pick-six) ; 6 forced fumbles (1 fumble recovery for a TD)

Harrison County High School - Wandale Robinson highlights - Hudl

 

 

Casey McGinness, Covington Catholic (10-0, ranked #1 in 5A)

 

Week 10: McGinness logged a career high 31 carries for 167 yards and a touchdown in CovCath’s 28-0 win over Campbell County. He was the Colonels’ workhorse during the back half of the regular season, carrying the ball at least 26 times in four of CovCath’s last five games.

Tre’ Bass, Franklin-Simpson (9-1, ranked #2 in 4A)

 

Week 10: A down year for Russellville meant a light workload for Bass in FS's 53-6 rout of the Panthers. He managed 75 yards and 2 TDs on just four carries.

 

Season to date: 100 carries for 1,390 yards and 23 TDs

Jayden Neace, Perry County Central (8-2, unranked in 5A)

 

Week 10: Neace churned out 182 yards and 4 TDs on a hefty 32 carries in PCC's three touchdown win over Prestonsburg.

Kent Trey Matthews, Mayfield (10-0, ranked #1 in 2A)

 

Week 10: For the first time this season, Matthews was kept out of the endzone. His 77 yards rushing on 16 carries were part of the story, but Mayfield's defense is what won the day versus Caldwell County.

Landan Swartz, Bath County (7-3, unranked in 3A)

 

Week 10: A week after being bottled up versus Russell, Swartz got back to his old ways with 215 yards and 4 TDs in Bath’s dominant showing versus Nicholas County.

 

Season to date: 228 rushes for 1,874 yards and 24 TDs ; 3 kick return TDs ; 46 tackles ; 5 ints.

Joe Jackson, Johnson Central (9-1, ranked #1 in 4A)

 

Week 10: In a clash of mountain titans, Johnson Central prevailed over Belfry, 34-21. The Golden Eagles rushed for 319 yards, led by Jackson's 142 and 3 TDs.

 

Season to date: 149 rushes for 1,388 yards and 22 TDs ; 2 receiving TDs

Dalton Cook, Lynn Camp (9-1, ranked #9 in 1A)

 

Week 10: Cook's 237 yards versus McCreary Central only ranks as his fifth highest single game total this season. That's the kind of year it's been for the state's leading rusher.

Demarco Fishback, Frederick Douglass (10-0, ranked #1 in 6A)

 

Week 10: Fishback posted one of his best outings of the season in FD's 20-0 win over Conner. His 171 yards were the lion's share of FD's 284 rushing yards.

 

Season to date: 121 rushes for 1,118 yards and 19 TDs ; 16 catches for 243 yards and 4 TDs

Week 10: Butler was off last week. They begin postseason play this Friday at Central Hardin.

Marquel Tinsley, Daviess County (6-4, unranked in 6A)

 

Week 10: As Cambron has heated up in the latter half of the season, so has Tinsley. He posted nine grabs for 205 yards and a TD in the Panthers’ 43-19 blowout of Apollo. With his output against the Eagles, he surpassed Pulaski County's Jake Sloan as the state's leading receiver.

 

Season to date: 70 receptions for 1,307 yards and 17 TDs

Week 10: Scott County was off last week. They begin postseason play this Friday at Campbell County.

Jacob Lacey, South Warren (10-0, ranked #2 in 5A)

 

Week 10: Lacey turned in arguably his most dominant performance of the season versus Owensboro Catholic. The explosive Notre Dame commit tallied 7 total tackles (including 5 TFL), 3 sacks, and forced a couple of fumbles. Apparently, it was open season on Drew Hartz. The Spartans sacked OCath's QB seven times all together.

Tanner Bowles, Glasgow (9-1, ranked #6 in 2A)

 

Week 10: Glasgow rushed for a very impressive 382 yards in a 35-34 win over 3A top 10 ranked Elizabethtown.

JJ Weaver, Moore (9-1, ranked #8 in 4A)

 

Week 10: Weaver recorded six tackles, a fumble recovery, and an interception in Moore's 28-14 win over Henry County. That makes three picks on the year for a 6’6” DE.

Week 10: Wright had one of his better all-around games of the season versus Bullitt East. He caught four balls for 89 yards and a TD, returned a punt 66 yards for a score, and recorded his first interception of the season.

 

Season to date: 48 catches for 648 yards and 7 TDs ; 17 rushes for 193 yards and 3 TDs ; 3 kick return TDs ; 30 tackles (3.5 TFL) ; 1 int.

Logan Castleman, Beechwood (8-2, ranked #1 in 1A)

 

Week 10: After three straight running clock blowouts over badly outgunned opponents, Castleman got a chance to show what he could do over four quarters. He carried the ball 26 times for 170 yards and 3 TDs in a 33-21 win over rival Newport Central Catholic.

 

Season to date: 121 carries for 953 yards and 16 TDs ; 12 catches for 97 yards and 2 TDs ; 3 ints. (2 returned for TDs)

Drew Sawyers, Southwestern (8-2, ranked #10 in 5A)

 

Week 10: Overall, he upgraded his play from last week, but the end result was still the same. This time, the Warriors lost to Lexington Catholic by three scores. Sawyers threw for 137 yards, ran for 45, and accounted for 2 TDs in defeat. These late season losses have really hurt his stock.
