1st Region: Thoughts and Predictions

Featured Replies

How would you rank the teams in the 1st region? Who are some players to keep an eye on?

It will depend on the ruling from the KHSAA. If Marshall gets Harmon eligible they will be favorite. Without him they are still in the discussion but Mayfield would be the preseason favorite.

As of right now I’d say Mayfield is number one then Paducah Tilghman, McCracken County, and Marshall County.

Graves will be in the mix somewhere... But if KHSAA lets Harmon play they will be the favorite.

Assuming Zion is eligible (which I saw he tweeted something like "let me play") then I would assume it would be: 1. Marshall 2. Mayfield 3. McCracken 4. Graves 5. Tilghman

I think Tilghman lost JJ Reid, I know they still have Thomas but not sure how much else they have. Mayfield has more numbers in that they have 3-4 solid players so I expect them to be really good. McCracken has Jackson Sivills who had a big summer with a lot of mid major type offers so I expect him to have a big year now that all of the senior guards are gone, just not sure there is enough around him to be a great team. Graves has the Naranjo kid and a great program so they could very well end up 3rd in the region. Should be a good balanced year in region 1.
