Bishop Brosart 28 Bracken County 6

Featured Replies

The Brossart Mustangs scored on our first offensive series, driving the football 59 yards for a 1 yard, Mason Dennis touchdown, plus the Bryan Duffy PAT.

Bracken County answered on their first offensive possession, marching 64 yards culminated by a 53 yard Tad Fischer touchdown run, with the PAT attempt no good, and with the score 7-6 in our favor it appeared that this was going to be a shootout.

The Mustangs maintained the pace, scoring on our second offensive possession as Tyler MacDonald finished off a 65 yard drive finding Grant Haubner on a 23 yard touchdown pass that gave us a 14-6 early game lead when Duffy split the uprights.

Shortly thereafter with lightning appearing in the distance, a 45 minute delay ensued. Upon completion of the delay Duffy attempted a 45 yard Field Goal (which he was hitting consistently in warm-ups) which came up short, and the first period came to a 14-6 conclusion favoring the homestanding Brossart Mustangs.

Following a Wilson Schroer interception of Trey Brausch the Mustangs went on an 80 yard drive, resulting in a 21 yard touchdown run on a MacDonald keeper, and Duffy PAT, giving the Mustangs a 21-6 halftime lead.

There would be no come-from-behind victory by our opponents in this game, as the Mustangs defense was up to the task for the remainder of the game forcing a change of possession on a pair of Fourth and Short, snuffing out a pair of Polar Bear threats.

The icing-on-the-cake touchdown came with 9:56 left in the contest when Adam Orth scored on a 13 yard touchdown run, giving our guys a 28-6 lead when Bryan Duffy converted his fourth PAT of the night.

They were inspired from seeing my presentation earlier in the day................

You're welcome :thumb:

Looks like things are coming down to as I thought it would at the start of the season.

Brossart vs. Paris for all the marbles, a must win for BB. A win would give them the title with the tie, right?

Did Brossart's defensive coordinator pretty much put 8 up front and make Bracken beat them on the outside and thru the air? They really miss offensive weapons Appleman,Teegarden,Deaton, plus some valuable OL members from last season.
