2007 U.S. Open Local Qualifier at Old Silo!

Featured Replies

I was just informed that Old Silo has been selected as a site for a U.S. Open Local Qualifier. The event will be on May 14, 2007.

Very good news for a course that is struggling financially.

Great news! Hopefully there is a big turn out for it. How many qualifiers do they have over the US?

Is Old Silo just not get a lot of daily play, or are they low on pass holders? I know they are a daily play facility and often times daily play's can struggle financially. When I worked at Wasioto Winds this summer, the play was down tremendously from what it had been. There are a number of factors but I suppose part of it could be blamed on gas and location, which I am sure factors in with Old Silo as well. I'm trying to help you guys out though. When guys come in the shop at Cherry Blossom and are asking about places close by, I always give a mention to Old Silo, Kearney, and The Bull.:thumb:

I think the problem with Old Silo and most public golf courses in central KY is that there are too many of them. When play is spread out among 15-20 courses that are no more than an hour from each other, it's tough to make any $$.

Thanks for the mention of it to your golfers at Cherry Blossom.:thumb:
