Somerset/Garrard County/Casey County (Scrimmage)

Went down to Somerset this evening to watch these three teams scrimmage.

 

Casey beat Garrard 7-6 in the first quarter, blocking an extra point to set the advantage. Both teams looked a little rough but moved the ball well.

 

Somerset beat Casey 7-0 in the second quarter but I thought the Jumpers really dominated.

 

Somerset and Garrard were scoreless in the third quarter, although the Jumpers did return a kickoff for a score (kickoffs appeared to be live until a defender touched the return man; not sure what the rule was exactly). Garrard moved the ball fairly well but stalled a couple of times, once deep in Somerset territory.

 

Casey beat Garrard 14-0 in the fourth quarter and looked much better. The Rebels threw the ball more while Garrard didn't look as efficient on offense.

 

I think they were going to play more (maybe JV) but we headed to the house.

Somerset seemed to move the ball better with Sheron at QB against Casey than with Ham at QB against Garrard. May have just been the difference in defenses each faced. Both made some nice passes and some mistakes, though. Just thought that was worth noting moving forward.
