Long time high school coach Paul Watts passed away this morning. Watts coached at Eminence, Williamstown, Gallatin County, Oldham County, Webster County, Louisa and Western Anderson.

Sad day for me. He was my coach at Gallatin County from 1973-74 to 1976-77. Always ran into him at the 8h Region Tournament at New Castle and the Sweet 16. He was always glad to see me and every time inquired about my family. Prayers to his family.

Never saw a team fundamentally block out for rebounds like his teams did. Every time.

Drinking out of a Clorox bottle. He was old school before there was a term of old school.

I saw him straighten a broken nose at practice

Coach loved high school basketball. I frequently saw him at Gallatin, Henry and Anderson. Loved good, hard nosed man to man defense.
