July 30, 20188 yr I wonder how much of that is on the greens keeper, and how much is on the course not wanting to spend money. It’s always a little bit of both.
July 30, 20188 yr Pet peeve of mine is people not yelling fore! And also don't pick up balls on league nights when there are people playing all over the place there is a good chance it is someones ball on neighboring hole. Don’t get me started on the old men at golf courses that will hit a ball in the opposite fairway and then pick up every ball they find because they didn’t think the guys on the tee can hit it that far.

Ridiculous isn't it! Then it causes you to drive around wondering where the heck did my ball go and ultimately backs up the rest of the course.

Only time I’ll ever pocket a ball is when I’m helping someone look for their ball in the woods. There was one time I playing Eagle Creek and I had teed off of hole 7 and was laying directly in the middle of the fairway. Some old guy playing 6 hooks his tee shot into 7’s fairway so he hits his second shot and drives by and picks up my ball and doesn’t hear me yelling and drives all the way to his next shot with my ball in his pocket. I had to track him down and his excuse was, “yeah I saw you on the tee but I picked it up anyways. “ I was so ticked. I stood on the tee box too and said to my buddies that he was was going to pick up my ball and sure enough he did.
July 31, 20188 yr Author A few years back I played at the General Butler State Park Golf Course in Carrollton. It cost about 8 dollars. It was an experience I will never forget.
