Ohio State 3 South Florida 1 (Softball)

The Buckeyes overcame seven base on balls by starting pitcher, Shelby McCombs, to defeat South Florida 3-1 in opening round play of the NCAA softball tourney.

 

The game was locked at zero, when Freshman Taylor Stevens laced a three run double to give the Buckeyes the lead. The three RBI was her first three of the season.

 

Lindsey Devitt had the only RBI for S.F.

Florida beat Bethune-Cookman (8-0), so the Buckeyes get the Gators next, tomorrow at 2pm. Also tomorrow, USF will play Bethune-Cookman in the loser's bracket at 5 pm. The winner of that game will play the loser of the Florida/Ohio State game at 7:30 pm
