Lots of crazy video coming out of this latest eruption on the Big Island. Over 200 earthquakes in a 48 hour period over the weekend including a 6.9 quake.

 

Instead of erupting from the top and running down the side of the volcano, this eruption is from several lava tubes that run from the volcano to the ocean splitting open and just spewing out lava. Experts today said they have no idea how long it will last or of it will get any worse.

 

Several homes have already been destroyed and 1,000's have been evacuated.

I just read that Green Lake, the largest freshwater lake in the state, has evaporated after being overrun with lava
