Meant to bring in paying customers..not actuallly honor the truly elite. Is that your point? It was mine.

 

You said it was meant to honor the "truly elite" which isn't a quantifiable statistic. There aren't "requirements" or a checklist people must click off in order to be enshrined. There will always be people in there that are agreed upon and that many disagree with - no different than pieces at an art museum.
