Spencer Co. 10 North Oldham 7

Featured Replies

Wow thought Spencer Co. would put up a lot more points in this game.

Looks like it was a tough game.

Looks like Spencer County and Newport went in different directions fast after their game

IMO -- maybe they were smart and knew they could win this game and decided to play their JV players to rest thier starters and heal injuries to get ready for the playoffs. IMO -- that would be what they call SMART COACHING.

Not something you really want to do.. especially when its this close... with Mercer next week and if they would have lost this game.. in the first round... Spencer would be traveling to Mercer

IMO -- you've got to consider the fact that North Oldham hasn't won a game on year. True they could have pulled off a big upset but if you have the guns and know you can win at any time then why not play your JV and if things appeared to not go in your direction then heat it up with your starters.

If North Oldham would have won this and then defeated Henry next week Spencer would not have even made the playoffs so JV in all of this game would have been ignorant

NPT Buckeye -- THINK -- If you were playing JV players and your JV was getting their butts handed to them -- then you would have put your starters into the game. DUH!

I heard the starting qb for Spencer didn't play.Does anyone know if he was hurt and if he'll be back?

Not sure. I really don't know much about Spencer County -- just trying to get a point across to Npt Buckeye that if you had injuries and know you could beat a weaker team at any point then why not rest your injuries and play mostly JV players.

As a very new program, Spencer does not have the luxury to play JV players

If you have injuries, it's one thing. If the coach "rested" his team because he felt he was playing weak competition, he is not a very smart coach. Football players need consistancy and game speed conditioning. If these players get out of sink...look out vs Mercer, they'll hang 60+ on ya in a minute.

Spencer did not REST any players. They just didn't play well. They got the win and thats the main thing.
