In the 3rd, Vancouver cut the lead to 3-2, but with under 4 minutes to go, Cory Conacher got a breakaway but was taken down from behind by Christopher Tanev, who also gave a high stick to Nikita Kucherov on the play. The result was a penalty shot for Conacher and a 2-minute power play for Tampa Bay. Conacher hit his first ever penalty shot.
