Good, early season scrap between two of the top teams in the 16th Region. Boyd's Savannah Wheeler lit up the scoreboard with 36. Aubrey Hill led the Lady Devils with 17. Madison Darnell had 16 before leaving the game in the 3rd period.

It Was a great game to listen to, I look forward to the rematch with Russell at full strength.

No question. This team could be really, really good this season when they're at full strength. I figured that they'd be pretty good with Darnell, Mitchell, and Michael back. I just wasn't sure how they'd compensate for the loss of Jachimczuk. The two freshmen (Hill and Ross) look outstanding. I'm not knowledgeable enough about girl's basketball in the region to really give an informed opinion, but they've both got to be among the very best freshmen around here.

 

All things considered, with Madison getting hurt, Ross fouling out, and no Ty Mitchell, this wasn't a bad loss at all. I like the way the girls battled after Darnell went down.
