South Warren players trashed locker room at Bowling Green after upsetting BG.

Featured Replies

I first heard about this Saturday Morning. I like most everyone was shocked and upset by the actions.

But to answer some questions I have seen posted and to clarify some of the information.

From my understanding from some coaches and parents this involved approximately 14 players who went on to the locker room ahead of the team and coaches. They were allowed access to the locker room.

Coach Smith was still on the field being interviewed by Radio. Daily Times, WBKO, Sporting Times and others. The other coaches were cleaning the sidelines, loading the equipment on to the trailer etc and was unaware that some of the players had made their way to the dressing room.

Most of the team was still on the field celebrating, taking pictures with their friends taking pictures with the regional trophy.

When two of the coaches made their way to the dressing room with others they heard what was going on and immidately put a stop to it. The whole team was made to cleanup the locker room and put everything back in order before they left that night.

Both AD’s have spoken about it.

Official comment from both sides is it being handled internally.

I know the players involved had to report to Smith on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

WNKY in Bowling Green Ran a story about it yesterday morning and apparently a lot of things have been going on between the schools on social media for a while.

What both administrations have said is that they are dealing with kids that have not learned how to control emotions and sometimes make bad decisions without fully realizing the consequences.

Well that does clear it up nicely! I for one apologize for my earlier comments.
