Daviess County at North Hardin (6A First Round)

Coach James Brannon's Daviess County (4-5) squad is playing 5A #9 Apollo this evening to complete their regular season. The Panthers are 2-2 in 6A games this season. Coach Brent Thompson's North Hardin (3-7) team has dropped four of their past five games including a 14-9 loss versus 5A #8 Doss. The Trojans have faced three 6A squads, going 1-2. Look for the Owensboro squad to come into Radcliff and take home a hard fought and close game.

Interesting matchup for sure. Daviess County has an explosive offense that can hurt you in multiple ways. WR Marquel Tinsley is one of the best WR's ive seen in all of my years in watching high school football. Their QB Joey Cambron has been sharp all year, finishing the season with 43 touchdown passes to only 9 interceptions. Running Back Landon Newman has started to emerge late in the season. He was banged up to start the year, but now that he's healthy hes a difference maker. He scored 7 touchdowns at Ohio County a week ago.

 

DC's weakness is sloppiness at times. That have been known to turn the ball over in big spots and it has really cost them in games vs Henderson, McCraken and John Hardin. Their D has also struggled at times but are coming off a big performance vs Apollo. If the Panthers can play clean football, I think they win this game.
