Goodell does suck, but, its much deeper than that. Curt Schilling gets fired for expressing a conservative political view, but Jemele Hill faces no action after calling POTUS a white supremacist. The NFL tolerates and implicitly supports players disrespecting the anthem, but, disallows decals supporting fallen police officers.

 

These are clearly business decisions. Given a choice, the NFL/ESPN would sacrifice its conservative audience to protect its liberal audience.

 

The armed forces themselves do plenty of business with the NFL for recruiting purposes as well as supplying honor/color guards for games. How can they support such disrespect for the flag that covers our fallen?

 

Actually Schilling was only fired after he repeatedly made political and inappropriate comments after being warned multiple times and suspended. He wasn't even disciplined when he said Hillary Clinton should be buried under a jail somewhere.

 

Darn those pesky facts....

FWIW, I have zero doubt Jemele Hill will get fired in the very near future. She can't help herself from making stupid statements. Comparing her situation to Schilling's just isn't quite accurate right now though. Schilling was given 3 chances. Hill has now used up 2 of hers. Next misstep and she'll be out.

And you can replace the word conservative with LIBERAL and just repeat.

 

Both sides do this ad nauseam. And I am not excluding myself either.

 

The NFL should have just disallowed the decals in each instance IMO.
