How Confident is Raceland?

Featured Replies

Raceland has three games left on their schedule. Fairview, Russell and Paintsville. I asked early in the season if they thought they could beat Paintsville? I want to know if any opinion has changed and why? I also would like to know if they are satisfied with how the season has played out so far?

4 games. You forgot the most important one... vs OPEN.

I would not say satisfied with how the season has gone so far. We felt like we had chances to beat Portsmouth west and Somerset. I personally am confident that we can win out and win our district and make a run in the playoffs all the way to lexington. As far as beating Paintsville goes I think they are a very good team. I don't think they are as tested as we are. They have only played 2 teams with a winning record. One of them beat Paintsville and the other is Lawrence Co. I don't mean that as a knock on them and again I think they are a very good untested team.

There is some of my Raceland crew.

Confident ? I would hope that the players will be and are confident, if not then the Rams are in serious trouble. When a player goes in a game thinking they may lose then trust me, it's a loss...every time.

As for me as a fan an admitted homer, Paintsville will obviously be the biggest hurdle left to run the table. They are ranked high for a legit reason, they're that dang good. Raceland has to travel to Paintsville which imo is one of the very toughest places in the state of KY. to go in and come out with a W. Raceland can beat Paintsville with an all out effort such as Sommerset and West Portsmouth, minus the few breakdowns we had on the line and some pass coverage mistakes that beat us in those games.

Before Paintsville however, no one should look past that school in Westwood that is coming in next. They consider their entire season a huge success / championship if they beat Raceland. Then, there's Russell who is an entire different animal to deal with.

So as for the question ....an easy path, No but Yes, I am confident that the Rams can win out but it's going to have to be a 100 % effort, commitment from All players.
