Second half propels North to victory.

Halftime score: North Oldham 7 Spencer County 6 Spencer largely dominated half, but couldn't convert it into points except one TD - and the PAT was blocked. North returned the ensuing KO 90 yards (Conner Newhouse) for a TD that erased the lead in a heartbeat. Adam Berry's PAT was the difference in the first half.

North with just 58 yards of offense unofficially in the first half, including -15 on the ground, as Spencer kept constant pressure in the NO backfield.

North took the second half KO, scored to make it 13-6 (failed conversion due to bad snap), got the ball back on a muffed KO, and scored again to go up 20-6.

Spencer almost lost the next kickoff as well, but it didn't matter as the Bears managed just 5 yards on three plays and had to punt.

Another North TD made it 27-6 after Spencer's punt was very, very short and gave the Mustangs the ball around their own 40.

The Bears got good field position on their next drive, but fumbled the ball away on the first play.

Turnovers pretty much doomed the Bears all night, but particularly in a second half that saw their offense disappear.

North exploded for over 170 yards rushing in the second half after managing -15 in the first half (in large part due to a bad snap on a punt resulting in a 34 yard loss). Through the air, Tanner McCoy was 8 of 11 in the second half with 2 TDs and 0 INT.

Spencer County's star running back - committed to Purdue - had about 98 yards rushing in the first half, but was largely bottled up in the second half.

North has the inside track on a playoff berth with the win, improving to 2-4 overall and 1-0 in the district. Spencer falls to 2-5 and 0-2.
