PtownDude Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Graves' biggest mistake may have been deciding to receive the football after winning the opening coin toss. The Eagles ended up being pinned in their end the entire first quarter and gave up 21 points on a 13-yard fumble return touchdown on a bobbled punt snap, a 37-yard interception TD and a short-field TD after a punt return to the 28. So, if you win the coin toss, always defer! :thumb:
Purple88 Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 WOW! Caldwell County D has played very well this season! Surprised by the score.
SomewhereOffTheMap Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 I was really impressed with Caldwell D against Christian Co. Their secondary is really good and although undersized as a whole the D has a lot of experience.
sImpleplan Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 I was at this game and after the 1st quarter it was pretty even. Both teams have good defense and can surprise on offense. Too many mistakes by the Eagles to pull off a win here.
truebluefan89 Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 Seems like Caldwell is overcoming the loss of their QB!
PtownDude Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 Well, I'm being told now that Caldwell County actually won the opening coin toss and deferred to the second half. However, I'm pretty sure the ref said on the field before the game that Graves County won and would receive. I still think you should always defer if you win the toss, but maybe that's just me.
