County rivalry time in Oldham County!

The North Oldham Mustangs (0-1) travel to Buckner to face the Oldham County Colonels (0-1)...

Oldham lost in OT to Henry County last week, 20-14, after fumbling the snap on their first play in overtime.

North suffered injuries to their starting QB Tanner McCoy and star WR Brandon Rose in a 41-9 loss at home to Western.

North leads the all-time series, 5-1, but Oldham won last year in Goshen, 14-6.

North, led by second-year coach Joe Gamsky, comes in on a 15 game tailspin; the school's longest losing streak was 16 games and the Mustangs could tie that mark with a loss to the favored Colonels tomorrow.

Oldham is led by first year head coach Michael Fox....

One head coach will get his first win at the school...

Rivalry games are notorious for defying logic, but Oldham would seem to have the advantages in this game....the Colonels are a little bigger, appear a little faster, and have more experience at key spots than North. QB Erix Edwards was an efficient 16 of 22 for 154 yards and 1 TD passing against Henry last week, with one pick. The Colonels have a bevy of solid receivers, including speedster Jaylen Moore and Zach Young, who had 7 catches for 80 yards and a TD vs. Henry.

North may have to start the backup QB, sophomore Allan Cheatham, if McCoy cannot go - although Cheatham led them to their only score last week, tossing a 19 yard TD pass to Adam Barry for North's only TD.

The game will be broadcast live on the internet, with video coverage beginning at 7 pm ET. The video broadcast is FREE, but high definition coverage will cost $4.95. The broadcast will also be archived on the website indefinitely.

I think Oldham County gets it together this week. In the first game they had dropped TD passes, touchdowns called back, a penalty on 4th down that allowed Henry Co to tie it up late. Just correcting a few of those mistakes should help them get the W.
