The Jumpers surrendered a double digit lead late in the 3rd quarter and eventually fell 36-29 to Bourbon County in the PBK Death Valley Bowl in Week 0. They'll need to get over that one in a hurry because they're paying a visit to 1A #5 Williamsburg this Friday.

 

The Yellowjackets are riding high after a 60-8 demolition of Jellico (TN). A convincing win for Williamsburg would further solidify their position in the top 5 of their class.

 

But, a win here would be even bigger for Somerset. The Jumpers are entering a brutal stretch of games on their schedule. In the coming weeks, they'll face Beechwood, Hazard, North Laurel, Rockcastle County, Raceland, Danville, and LCA. Wins could be hard to come by in the next couple of months. A win over Williamsburg could at least give them something to build on as they enter this gauntlet.

Anything short of a monsoon and I expect a high scoring shootout. Defensive stops will be at a premium. This game had a combines 69 points scored last year and I could see that again this year. Somerset does need to get after it this week as the coming weeks don't get any easier as @DevilMayCare mentioned.

 

If Williamsburg wins this week, they have a solid chance at running out the rest of the regular season undefeated going into the playoffs.
